With a PhD in Public Law (magna cum laude, Université de Paris I), Attorney-at-Law (Buenos Aires Bar) Florencio Travieso is a partner at Hourbeigt Abogados Law firm in Buenos Aires, leading the Corporate law and new technologies regulation team and coordinating the Foreign Direct Investment Law department.
Currently based in Paris, Dr. Travieso specializes in regulation law, M&A and international arbitration, with a particular emphasis on communications, new technologies and energy-related matters. His recent arbitration experience includes acting as counsel for the Argentine Republic under the arbitration rules of UNCITRAL (UN) and ICSID (World Bank). He has represented Argentina in the cases following the 2001 macroeconomic collapse.
He has published numerous articles and given lectures on subjects related to administrative law, energy matters and new technologies.
In addition, Dr. Travieso holds degrees from the University of Buenos Aires and a Masters Degree in public law at Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris I).
